Thursday, March 26, 2015 – On Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 1309 hours members of the Mantua Township Fire District and Pitman Fire Company No. 1 were dispatched to 14 Arbour Lane for a reported dwelling fire. Engine Company 2213 responded within one minute with a crew of six personnel and upon their arrival found a 2 1/2 story Middle of the Row Town Home with smoke showing. FM 22 established command and upgraded the assignment to an all hands basement fire. The crew from Engine Company 2213 established their own water supply and stretched a single 1 3/4 inch hand line through the front door into the basement, where they were faced with heavy fire conditions.
Chief 2201 arrived on scene, assumed command and ordered Quint 2816 to set up in Division “A” with their apparatus, detailing personnel to the rear for ventilation. Rescue Company 1038 responded and assisted crews with ventilation. The crew from Engine Company 2213 was able to quickly bring the fire under control, holding damage to the room of origin. All searches of the dwelling revealed negative results.
Once the fire was brought under control, companies began salvage and overhaul of the dwelling limiting any further damage and the investigation was completed by FM 22 and FI 2210. There were no fire fighter injuries to report and the fire remains under investigation by the Mantua Township Fire Marshal’s Office.
