Thursday, October 23, 2014 – On Thursday, October 23, 2014 members of the Mantua Township Fire District were dispatched to the City of Woodbury 231 N. Evergreen Avenue, Woodlake Apartments, for a reported Dwelling Fire. Squad Company 2218 responded immediately with a crew of five personnel.
Upon their arrival Squad Company 2218’s crew was ordered to set up in Division A as the Rapid Intervention Crew. While establishing a safe area, the crew was split to assist with suppression in the fire building as well as check for extension in the adjoining apartments. Crews stood by while members of the Woodbury Fire Department successfully contained and extinguished a second floor apartment fire, holding the bulk of the damage and fire to the initial apartment. Ten District 22 members remained on location as the RIC for approximately two hours with no fire firefighter injuries to report.
