On Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 1105 hours the Squad Company 2211 was requested into West Deptford Township for a working house fire. Squad Company 2211 responded with staffing of five personnel and arrived as the third due company. Chief 6102 ordered the crew from Squad Company 2211 to a search of the second and third floor as well as assist with extinguishment on the first floor.
Due to extreme heat the second alarm was struck and companies operated on scene for approximately two hours, with two firefighter injuries reported. The fire was quickly brought under control and damage was contained to the rear of the residence. The fire remains under investigation by the West Deptford Fire Marshal’s Office.
Once the company was cleared, Squad Company 2211 handled a fumes incident in District 5 at 16 S Maple Ave. Crews checked the interior of the residence with nothing in evidence.
