On Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 1259 hours members of the Mantua Township Fire District were dispatched to the Borough of Pitman for a reported dwelling Fire. Squad Company 2211 responded within seconds with a crew of six personnel.
Chief 28-301 arrived on scene, reported a 2 1/2 story single family dwelling with heavy smoke and fire showing and one subject possibly trapped. Engine Company 2831 arrived first due and stretched a single 1 3/4 inch hand line. Quint 2816 arrived as the first due truck, and Squad Company 2211 arrived third due with orders to assist with deployment of a second line as well as performing a search.
Squad Company 2211s crew performed both the primary and secondary searches which both revealed negative results. Crews then assisted with extinguishment, ventilation and overhaul of the dwelling. Once the fire was brought under control the scene was turned over to the Pitman Fire Marshals office and remains under investigation. Crews remained on scene assisting with clean up until released by command.
